Looking Back in Time

When we want to talk about some things that happened in the past we use those kind of structures:

• Used To

I used to have short hair.

• Would

• Could

By the time she was seven, she could already speak 5 languages.

• Was- Were

The fog came down and I wasn´t able to get to the top of mountain.

• Able to

I´d like to be able to swim like Jack, He swims like a fish.

At the age of five I couldn´t ride my bike. When I was seven I managed to ride it with the little wheels. By that time I was unable to ride it without the little wheels. I was sad because my cousin that is my age could ride his bike without the little wheels. I started practicing for hours and days. Now I´m able to ride any kind of bikes. At this moment I´m a profesional biker and I´m very glad because only practice took me where I´m at this point.
